Alien Isolation - Paweł K.
I’ve played it wit a headset so the immersion was immense. It was so great in fact, that sometimes I just couldn’t handle the heat and just straight ran into the xenomorph to be over with it. The idea was to save scum. So if I die, I know where the alien is and its path, so then I can go the other way. After few months, I’ve learned that the alien has dynamic spawn points and will change its paths according to your gameplay.
Alone in The Dark - Joe P.
When you see that persons shadow looking at you in the courtyard from the mansion house. That freaked me out as a kid, haha! First time experiencing Dead Space was pretty intense too. Going through Ravenholm in Half Life 2 was up there as well. And lastly, The Haunted Mansion quest in Vampire The Masquerade: Bloodlines.
Amnesia: The Dark Descent - Chris C.
Playing it again as an adult still gives me those nostalgic and eerie feelings of helplessness that I remember so well. Back when jump scares were the popular choice for horror, Amnesia took it a step further and delivered a truly immersive psychological horror experience. You couldn't help but feel terrified of every corner and hidden space in a room. Definitely a game that still gives me nightmares to this day!
Dead Space - Juan V.
Playing Dead Space (2023) on Impossible Mode with the Arctis Nova Pro Wireless with the lights off and no one in the room with but chat definitely made for a terrifying experience. It was the noises in the walls that got me really good half the time.
Dead by Daylight - Mayday
My first game of DBD: I got stream-sniped by a top player who meticulously assassinated me with a flying RKO off a balcony. Despite my Arctis Nova Pro Wireless with the FPS footsteps Sonar preset, I couldnt hear/wasnt aware of the pro strats being used to absolutely clown on me — Sorry Mayday, sucks to suck ~ Editor's note.
Eternal Darkness - Dave T.
Eternal Darkness on Gamecube was awesome. It very much messed with your head. It made you think your TV turned off, would randomly make it look like your character died, but then didn't. It was good.
I also 'NOPE'd straight outta Alien Isolation when I tried it in VR. Seeing an Alien turn and see you before sprinting at your face was too much for me in VR.
Fear 3 - RaiBOT01
Fear 3 only cause I worked and voice-acted on it! Little Nightmares 1 and 2 + DLC would be my pick.
I'm On Observation Duty - Paweł K.
The first time the anomaly changes from your usual missing object or new object to a freaking head in the sink gave me a mini heart attack.
The Last of Us - Kleon V.
I played the Last of Us for the first time this year and beat it before the show concluded. It was super scary as you're low on resources most of the time and have to sneak around the infected.
My favorite moment had to be the last mission, which wasn't super scary but had some gut wrenching moments, TLOU fans would know. I didn't use a headset but I imagine if I was wearing an Arctis Nova Pro Wireless with active noise cancellation it'd be a lot more intense.
Outlast 2 - Mateusz P.
Outlast 2 for me! The first part was amazing so I had huge expectations coming into the second one — and boy, oh boy, was I satisfied (and terrified)! The atmosphere and story were both MUCH better than in the original Outlast (dunno, I prefer a village full of cultists rather than an asylum) and the main "monster" and the parts where you have to hide and run from it scared the crap out of me. It was quite a few years ago, but I remember that I had to divide my gameplay into 30-minute sessions, I simply could not take more than that at once, lol. I'm a sucker for a good horror game, and Outlast 2 was surely a great one that I will remember fondly. If I ever feel like having a heart attack, I will surely check out the VR mod for it.

Not a "full game" but P.T., the whole experience was a nightmare for me; that feeling of being trapped in a loop, the baby crying, the feeling that someone was always behind you!
SOMA - Luke S. (yours truly)
I really loved SOMA, a sci-fi followup to Amnesia. While the scares and atmosphere were truly great, the story itself was spectacular. I highly recommended, for me it was on one of the best sci-fi stories I've ever experienced. It gets deep, man.
What Remains of Edith Finch - Jo K.
Not sure if it counts as horror, but it was definitely creepy: What Remains of Edith Finch. Great quick story game without jumpscares.
