Perks work a little differently this time around. The perk system in Black Ops 6 is a return to form for Call of Duty but also introduces a brand-new specialization system.
This past year in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, the franchise returned to its roots with the perk system. The developers went away from the timed perks mechanic that was present in MW2 2022 and brought back the traditional way that perks worked in the past. Black Ops 6 is keeping this same system in place in multiplayer, so players should feel right at home when booting up the Gunsmith.
However, there is one key change with the perk system in BO6. The new perk specializations reward players for picking certain picks on their loadouts, which could drastically change up the metas. Below, you can see a list of all the currently leaked perks in BO6 and how perk specializations work.
Dom't forget to also check out our list of all weapons in Black Ops 6 multiplayer.
All Perks in BO6 Multiplayer
While we still haven’t seen any official perk list for BO6, the leaked gameplay footage that surfaced in early August allowed us to see most, if not all of the perks currently in multiplayer. Some of these perks and their categories are subject to change before launch, or even the beta, but the list appears to be mostly complete.
You can see all of the leaked perks and their categories below:
Perk 1
- Assassin
- Scavenger
- Bruiser
- Ninja
- Ghost
- Flak Jacket
- Tac Mask
Perk 2
- Dexterity
- Gung-Ho
- Tracker
- Engineer
- Forward Intel
- Dispatcher
- Fast Hands
Perk 3
- Double Time
- Bankroll
- Vigilance
- Cold Blooded
- Quartermaster
- Gearhead
- Guardian
If BO6 multiplayer launched with all of these perks in place, it would be a fairly standard number for a Call of Duty title. All of the traditional perks are present, including Ninja (dead silence), Flak Jacket, Double Time, Engineer, Cold Blooded, etc. There are also some new perks, such as Dispatcher and Guardian, that could shake up the meta if used properly.
Keep in mind, though, that new perks could be added for the launch of BO6 while other perks could be removed or saved for a future seasonal update. We wouldn’t be surprised to see this list of perks present in the BO6 beta, however.
How Perk Specializations Work in BO6
Perk specializations are a way to reward players for using specific perks. As you’ll notice on the perk list above, there are colors next to every perk’s name. These colors are the main focal point of the perk specialization system.
In BO6, you can use three perks of the same color to unlock a perk specialization, which is essentially an added perk for your loadout. You unlock a new perk specialization depending on what color you choose to equip for your three perks. All perk specializations are different, so you won’t unlock the same bonus for using all red perks compared to using all green or blue perks.
Using a perk specialization is by no means mandatory, so you can still equip whatever perks you want for your loadout. However, if you want a fourth perk, you can run the same color perks. Below, you can see each perk specialization in BO6:
- Red Perk Specialization: Enforcer — Killing enemies grants a temporary buff to movement speed and health regeneration rate.
- Blue Perk Specialization: Recon — Enemies can be seen through walls for a short time after respawn. A HUD edge indicator flashes when an enemy is outside your view. Leave no death skulls when killing enemies.
- Green Perk Specialization: Strategist — Earn a score bonus for objectives and destroying enemy content. See enemy content through walls from a short distance. Deploy equipment and Field Upgrades faster.
As you can see, the perk specializations are extremely powerful, especially Recon. Seeing enemies through walls has been a form of cheating in the past, but now you can take advantage of it just by using some specific perks. We’ll have to wait and see whether or not perk specializations become part of the meta in BO6 multiplayer. However, at the very least, they are game-changing abilities that add another layer of customization to your loadouts.
